What is Beta-Glucan?
Beta-Glucans are polysaccharides present in the cell walls of mushrooms, grains, and yeast.
In 1941, American doctor Louis Pillemer, discovering them in the cell wall of yeast, named them "Zymosan". Later, in 1960s, Dr. Nicholas Diluzio, also of the US, gave these large-molecular polysaccharides the name Beta-glucans. Beta-glucans have been demonstrated to strengthen the immune cells. The Beta-glucans having anticarcinogenic effects are B-(1,3), (1,6)-glucans.*
